Well since my review was running behind, I had to go by memory, and the excellent "Previously in..." gatefold cover from #3 in order to do this review. However it wasn't all that complicated so I think it should be alright.

Ayep, Puck and Vindicator couldn't be happier around Department H these days. Alpha Flight's back together and it's not like their employers are drugging AF members, brainwashing them and/or erasing their memories or nothing! Apparently Puck and Vindicator don't remember that they quit AF last issue....hmmm can anybody say, "DEVIOUS CONSPIRACY"? Yes, it's the order of the day here in Department H, where shadowy coverups are as numerous as kids in a toy store. But back to the story...old AF villian the Master shows up and starts wreaking some havoc then abruptly disappears. He reappears again and AF is dispensed to find him since he's hiding somewhere in the complex. Naturally, they're ordered to split up so's to find him faster. Pretty soon everybody's by themselves facing the Master, who exhibits invulnerability to that respective member's powers and abilities. Luckily our favorite Canadians manage to group back up and find out that there's a ton of Masters, so they switch partners and beat some supervillian skull in. It was all a test, you foolish government agents, you! Apparently skill tests can come at any time or place when you're a member of the new Alpha Flight.

Oh yeah....we find out Sunfire came to Department H on Wolverine's suggestion in order to discover why his abilites are going nuts. Instead, Depo. H scientists tell him he's dying of radiation poising from his own powers! On top of that they're keeping him quarantined for further tests...against his will. Then over in Orloo, Canada we find out about Hull House, a boarding house for X-ceptional young adults. X as in the X gene...for some crazy reason Department H has hands in that. Oh yeah some freaky undead guy digs his way out of an abandoned military base there, too. Will these questions be answered next issue? I don't KNOW! Well...I do, I'm just trying to build tension.

Not as great as issue one, but characters are developing well. Clark can work on his art some more, his drawings are at times overly simplistic. Seagle is weaving a tale of intrigue that is well worth the read. I give it a 7 out of 10.

Alpha Flight #3 Same info as above except Carlson is the inker Basically, here's what happens. Department H gets weird readings from Orloo, sends old team to investigate. New team's left at home. Old team gets there and we learn that Puck remembers Hull House, but not everything about it...maybe because he's not supposed to? Manbot lovingly informs us that the site where the readings are coming from is an abandoned Depo. H experiment site involving cosmic rays. this is where Chinook (AKA undead freaky dude from last issue) pops up and starts kicking some ass. According to his rants and raves he used to work for the Canadian government too, way back when...that is until Guardian and the rest of AF sealed him in a dimensional void and turned him into this monster. Guardian has no idea what he's talking about of course, since he's not the same guy he used to be...(remember that whole de-aging, losing memory thing?). A fact he's starting to resent more and more each issue but more on that later. All of this is a moot point since Chinook's awakening is causing detrimental affects on the weather and demolishing nearby Orloo, and he's gotta be stopped. Puck hits Chinook from behind giving Sasquatch an opening so that he can contain the enemy in a safe manner....he grabs him and rips him into two. This causes a weird explosion and a crop circle in the landscape, two things that require further investigation. Alas, gotta get back...those crazy novice members of AF, Radius, Flex, and Murmur decided to break out Sunfire and take a little road trip downtown. In a diner with...Mesmero? What the hell?! Two other AF alumni, Wildchild and Shaman, also feel the rumblings of the new team....will they answer the call?

A good comic overall. Clark's pencils are getting better and all of the team is developing greatly. Still I almost feel we're getting just a wee bit too much mystery, something the average reader probably won't like. I, however, love the way this comic is going and am gonna give it another 7 for this issue. Till next time.
