I'm gonna make things relatively quicker than my normal AF reviews. #5 concludes the diner confrontation with Mesmero whereupon he disappears. Diamond Lil, wife of Madison Jeffries (who was kidnapped in issue #1 by the Scorpio) comes to investigate and falls into Department H's trap. Flex has a nightmarish flashback revolving around a demonic being. The Prometheus Pit is either a shrinking device OR a portal to a super small dimension? And finally a female member of the Scorpio teleports to France. The art is mediocre but the oh-so-sweet storyline with mystery galore is what I read the book for.
Score: 7 out of 10.
#6 is a great improvement over its predecessor. It gets a new artist who can spend more than 15 minutes on a drawing (unlike regular penciller Scott Clark). The story deals almost exclusively with Puck's retrieval mission of Sasquatch, who has broken out of his cell and is running amok in Canada. Puck eventuallly tracks him down only to find out the stunning secret of Sasquatch's strange behavior, love for wanton destruction, feral mind and instincts, and more bestial appearance. Sasquatch is not Water Langkowski, code name: Sasquatch; he is simply a sasquatch who was mistakingly picked up by Department H. But General Clark shows up, knocks out Puck and the sasquatch, and hauls 'em back to Depo. H; but why is he doing this? More will be revealed next issue, hopefully.
Also, Diamond Lil gets experimented on and NorthStar crash lands on a ship somehwhere in the ocean.
Score: 9 out of 10!
