What the hell is this?

Calimari

This was the preferred weapon of one of Mark's Nightspawn characters. It was a Hound sword that he stole from a factory in the Nightlands. He gave the sword this title and whenever it was uttered, enemies stepped back in fear. Or maybe not...

Spades

I could have sworn I read that these were common weapons amongst Hounds. So this is what they wielded for about the first thirty encounters the PC's had with these bad boys. This soon left Mark running around with dozens of spades on his person. Rarely did any NPC notice or care. If that's not a testament to my GMing, I don't know what is!

In addition to that, several of the players thought they were fighting actual dogs whenever I mentioned Hounds. I should have spoken a little more clearly when describing their first few appearances.

Saturns

Simple story behind this one. My pal Erik used to drive a Saturn. Thus whenever I need to assign a type to an automobile, it usually turns out to be a Saturn. The overkill point came when they found a garage full of them at the midwest headquarters for the Paranormal Activities Bureau.

Crows, Ravens, and Owls

They're creepy and provide atmosphere. I equate them to using spices when livening up a lackluster meatloaf. When in doubt, describe a landscape dotted with birds. It's symbolic and shit.

I also always liked using that line from Twin Peaks, "The owls are not what they seem."

Tyrant

Tyrant was one of the heralds of Galactus and he entered into my adventures as a result of the Random NPC Deck. Before that, I had never even heard of this guy. His mannerisms are based largely on Puddy, Elaine's boyfriend from Seinfeld. He's good people.

Tyrant has made appearances in Nightspawn and Rifts.

Excalibat

Bobuelo, Anti-Monster extraordinaire, possessed one of the greatest weapons of all. It was a biomancer baseball bat and it glowed green. None could withstand its power...except for Death, who ate it. DAMN HIM!

The Ghostly Katana of Soul Slaying

Wanna kick ass and take names? Pick up this little doozie from Rifts Japan.

Aaron's phasing ninja managed to steal one from a crazed soldier in the GURPS fantasy adventures before it could be used against him in any real combat. (Thank goodness for him.)

Illusion magic disuguised a Ghostly Katana as a weather vane on top of a downtown high rise in Nightspawn. Blade claimed it was the weapon he needed for his final battle with Moloch. Whether it was real or not was never determined.

Quickdraw holsters and the crotch gun

Inspired by Desperado and From Dusk Till Dawn, Mark's mad scientist characters have been known to use these. With lethal results.

Infernal Lieutenant Colonel (Aka Make it Happen Captain, "You and the Captain, make it happen.")

An NPC from Erik's Rifts campaign. I loathed this guy. More later...

Elbow drops

Customary finishing move for fallen opponents. Not always the most effective though. That's why it's usually reserved for those adversaries who are down and out. Rub a little salt into their wounds.
