What can I say about this issue of Spawn that would best sum up its enjoyment level? Hmm...it's mediocre at best. Once again, Spawn provides beautiful art that is pleasing to the eye but it lacks a good story. Nothing really happens; which is the main problem with the series. 66 issues and the same old stuff is happening over and over: Spawn broods, goes a little nuts, etc. By now the whole routine is getting old. I wanna start seeing some of these problems that have been around since the beginning of the series start to get resolved. Although not a longtime fan of the comic, I wonder why Spawn is still getting around to putting the smack down on those who killled him. And when is he going to resolve things with his ex-wife, Wanda? I pick up an issue infrequently at best because of things like this. If nothing worthwhile happens in the series, I do not feel the need to read it frequently. Book sales end up hurting because of this kinda thing. With a mediocre movie and bad reviews in Wizard, McFarlane needs to take a serious look at how his grand story is unravelling and consider speeding things up a little.
Score: 4 out of 10.
