A Little Bit About Me.... (and this is the 'about me' background from the yahoo or geocities people...how original) For actual stuff about me, you can either: Click here for facts about me or See My Quiz Results for the hundreds of personality quizzes I've taken or Go to my index page for other sites I've made Otherwise, read on to find out stuff about me regarding Newsies. Know what I just realized? Me and Christian Bale have the same initials!! Anyway, I'm a "Newsies" freak, who is totally obsessed with the movie and everything about it, probably much like yourself since you visited my page. (unless you're one of my friends, and if you are you know about me already so you don't have to read the rest of this) Sarol isn't my real name, just in case you were wondering what was wrong with my parents. I think it was my cousin who originally thought of it, but don't ask me how. I used it here because I like it better than my real name, which is Carlie. I'm from North Dakota, so I don't have a cool accent (I loooove people with accents! I always feel left out when I go places where they talk cool. Don't you guys love Racetrack's accent? And the way people from Australia talk? And don't you love the way guys sing?) My friend Jena likes Newsies now! (Hehehe, I've converted a Newsies fan!) None of my other friends like it though (Okay I was looking at this picture of Jack in science because I carry it around in my backpack, and my friend Brittany asked me where it was from, and I said "Newsies," and she said that she saw that movie and hated it! I honestly don't know what's wrong with some people. And then I finally made my friend Misty watch it and she said it wasn't 'her kind of movie.') I used to be a newsies fan when it came out ten years ago. I would watch it all the time, and act out the scenes and stuff, and then my mom took our copy to her school (she's a teacher) to show to her students, and I kind of forgot about it until a few years ago when I found the soundtrack in the back of our CD drawer and made my mom take it home so I could watch it again. Since then I've watched it, oh, a million times (yes, one million times- no less) plus watching my favorite scenes on the DVD over and over. Eventually I'll put a picture of me on here (with my newsie hat and red bandana...hee hee hee) My Favorite Newsies... Quotes: (not in order) 1. "Alright! I ain't deaf!" -Racetrack (to David, when David is yelling, "I need help" or something at him right before it shows Jack being a scabber.) I like it because when you watch movies and people spaz, you always that but the characters never say it. I know I'm weird but I like that line so leave me alone. 2. "I say that what you say is what I say" -Spot (the newsie rally) It's one of everyones favorite lines. I don't know, I guess it was the only one I could remember over ten years until I got re-obsessed with Newsies. 3. "And the world will know that this ain't no game, that we got a ton of rotten fruit and perfect aim." -all the newsies (from The World Will Know) It rhymes. I know practically every other line does, too, but that one's just cool. I don't know why. 4. "I want space, not just air. Let 'em laugh in my face, I don't care" -Jack (Santa Fe) He's so determined to make his dreams come true... And it rhymes. That's a plus. 5. "On the grounds of Brooklyn yer honor" -Spot (the trial) and while I'm on it, "I'll roll you for it, double or nothing" -Racetrack (also at the trial.) Why? The newsies are making the trial funny and bugging the judge, who bothers me. That's enought quotes for now. If I think of more favorites later, I'll put them on then. Characters: (in order) 1. Jack. He's...funny, and a good strike leader, and I suppose above all rather good-looking. 2. Tie between Race and Spot. They're both good newsies. (Like I think I said in my thoughts on newsies, I think back in 1899 there would be a lot of newsies kind of like them) Plus, they're both kind of cute.... 3. The rest of them. I don't dislike any newsies. Scenes: (or actually kind of just stuff that happens, I guess. They're not really whole scenes. They're not in any particular order) 1. When Specs and the other two newsies (I forgot who...) come out of the bathroom stalls one after the other in Carrying the Banner. I have no idea why, I just like that part. 2. When Racetrack does his little grin thing and crosses himself while saying, "Just give me half a cup" to the nuns in Carrying the Banner. 3. In King of New York when they're singing and Specs kind of slaps his hand or something. I don't know remember which line it was. I always point it out to my sister though. I'm not sure why I like it. I guess I'm just weird. 4. You have to have the DVD to know what I'm talking about for this one. In theatrical trailer #2, David tries to sell a paper to a kissing couple and the guy kicks him away. It's not in the movie though :-( (By the way, I can actually frown like that smiley face. I have a very oddly double jointed mouth.) 5. At the end, when they think no ones coming, and then everyone comes at once. (The World Will Know Reprise). And at the end of that one, when Spot and his newsies come and Spot yells, "Brooklyn!" Except the bicycle guys kind of bug me, especially when they follow Teddy Roosevelt's carriage 6. When Mush jumps up on the table in King of New York 7. Any of the dancing and singing stuff. Songs: All of them. Well, I guess I like the ones sung by the guys better than the ones sung by Medda and the ones that don't have words. Except I do like Rooftop. I can kind of play it on my flute.
