The Orange Teddy Roosevelt Robot
*I couldn't find a picture of the real "actor," so you'll have to use your imagination and combine these two pictures to see what he looks like:
Background Info on the Robot
So, what's the deal with the robot Teddy Roosevelt on Newsies? Quite simply, they could not find an actor that looked enough like Teddy Roosevelt to fill the role. So what did they do? They built a robot to play that role. Why did they make it orange? I have no idea. That's just weird.

So, How do you know it's a Robot?
Well, quite simply there are a few "robot malfunction" scenes where it is quite obvious that Teddy Roosevelt was, in fact, played by a robot, NOT a person:
~At the end of the movie, after the Newsies win the strike, the Robo-Roosevelt is shown meeting the newsies. But he makes it quite clear that he's made out of nuts and bolts by mechanically putting his hat on and off while jerking his head back and forth, with a creepy robotic smile painted onto his metal face.
~When Denton comes into his office, his special "Robot Voice" goes into overdrive and he starts squeaking, and accidentally calls Denton "Denty." The film makers wanted to reshoot the scene but they couldn't because soon after Robo-Roosevelt's head started spinning around and around, and they smelled gas.
~Well, the fact that he's orange is kind of a dead giveaway.
