The News

Congrats to all our champions and their pit crews!!! It was a fun and
successful race day and all went well. Yesterday started off will
some big dark clouds in the sky and thoughts of whether or not the race
could go on. But, no worry the clouds passed after a little wait and
we had a day full of excitement. The crowd was the biggest and best
yet, drawing possibly from other 4th of July events down the street (the
car show, parade, and stereo sound off). It was commented that we
may have seen the most wrecks ever, due to the slick pavement that dried
quickly from the hot sunshine. No need to worry, no one was injured.
The only advice I can give next year to the drivers is after you hit the
finish line: BREAK!!! Or if you go through the hay bails on the side
of the track: BREAK!!! Overall, it was a great day of fun racing and
we must stop to thank all those whom sponsored us, some year after year
like Great Lakes Chemical and AmerCable. And most importantly, a BIG
thanks to our volunteers who come out and work the race. You are
what makes the biggest difference in the South Arkansas Soap Box
Derby. Thank you!

updated some info, such as the previous sponsors and last year's champs

eldoark.com calendar, and some other local website calendars. If
you know of one I missed, let me know. I hope y'all are all getting

We're starting to gear up for the 6th annual South Arkansas Soap Box
Derby. Be sure to check back by for announcements and updates every
so often. You may even see pictures of you or someone you know who
is participating or helping out in some way with this event. We are
proud and thankful for the continued support of the El Dorado
Jaycees. Without this wonderful organization the South Arkansas Soap
Box Derby would not be the success it is. See you this summer! - Cherie
