Asking For Help

I sit here looking
Looking out the window
The window of my life.
Sometimes were good times
A lot of times were not.
It makes me want to lie down
Lie down on a cot.
Man I could tell you a lot.
Some things would make you skin crawl
Some things would make you bawl
I wish I could go back in time
I would change some things that are locked in my mind
It would really be great to have the key
The key that unlocks my mind...
I would really like to see
Someone who cares holding me
I think of starting over
Starting over is hard to do
So now I am asking for help
Asking for help only from you.

I LAY ME DOWN!

HE FELL THE GROUND BENEATH THE MUD
RUNNING RED WITH HIS BLOOD
HIS FEARS LONG GONE HE LAY HIS FACE
PREPARED TO DIE THIS FORSAKEN PLACE!

AROUND HIM WAGED THE BATTLE MORE
AS HE NEARED HEAVEN'S DOOR
HE WONDERED WHY HE'D COME TO LAND
IN THIS COUNTRY OF VIETNAM!

HIS WEAKENED GAZE LIFTED AFAR
HE CAUGHT THE TWINKLING OF A STAR
NO SENSE, OR REASON CAME TO HIM
BUT HE DREW HIS STRENGTH FROM WITHIN!

"OH MY MOTHER HERE I LAY
AND HERE I AM PREPARED TO STAY
I SEE YOUR HEART IN THAT STAR
TWINKLING TO ME FROM AFAR!"

"TAKE MY LOVE, AND TELL MY DAD
I DID MY BEST AND DON'T BE SAD
THOUGH I DIE IN THIS VIETNAM
I LAY ME DOWN FOR MY HOMELAND!"

We The Veterans

"Dedicated to all my fellow US vets, especially the combat vets."

Soldiers in combat here and overseas
fighting wars on bended knees.

We serve our great country the U.S.A.
just wanting respect and the government to pay.

Pay for our suffering, sacrifice, and pain
but instead of us veterans the government stands to gain.

Forgotten like trash and kicked to the curb
never would we have thought they would have such nerve!

All we want is what's rightfully ours
not to be ignored or thrown behind bars.

To corrupted officials resembling a leech
go thank a "vet" for your "Freedom Of Speech"!
