After finally graduating from college in December 1999 and quitting BBV in January, I entered into a very surreal period of my life. Unemployed and with no school to focus on, I drifted into a bizarre lifestyle that included catching up on some reading, hours of aimless free time, finding out I had a twin who just happened to be a supermodel(whose life took a similiarly unusual turn west until it apparently met an unfortunate end in April...RIP-Phillip Redgoat), Scat-mania, insomnia, a short-lived return to KFC (what was I thinking??), a second edition of Spiritual Chaos, a bevy of beauties (well, that didn't happen), and much more. I was beginning to think that all the schooling and debt I acquired was for nothing until I heard the call to head west.

Some might say it was predetermined, others might just say coincidence. Whatever the case, I landed a job out in the desert of New Mexico. I took a 27 hour bus ride to check out the place that would become my home. The visit was a pretty wacked out 72 hours from which I should have learned my lesson. The bus even lost my junk, for God's sake. All the signs were there, still I ignored them, determined this was exactly what I needed. After all, I was the one who had always talked about "living in a cabin in the mountains of Switzerland" to be isolated from the world.

It wasn't Switzerland, but it did have mountains and isolation.
