| Dark Mousy A Mysterious Thief (DUH) who every Male Niwa on their 14th birthday not only transform into but also have living in their head for a while. Dark primarily steals from the Hikari family for some reason. (Satoshi’s adopted dad had said something about it, but it was rather confusing) Dark is physically about 17 years old, and a huge flirt. Not a lot is told about Dark’s past in the 5 manga books, but I guess it would have to be really interesting seeing about his relationship with Krad. |
| Daisuke Niwa Daisuke is 14 years old, and the kind of ‘pure of heart’ anime character. He’s cute, he’s shy, he’s a little school boy, and tries to look on the bright side of things. He's pretty much as average as they come until Dark shows up. He lives at home with his very funny yet odd mom and Grandpa. |
Daisuke’s Mom (Emiko Niwa) Being disappointed that she could not turn into dark as a child, she wanted more than anything to be the mother of the mysterious thief. She adores in having a basement filled with great pieces of stolen artwork, and making wild black outfits for Dark. |
Daisuke’s Dad (Kosuke Niwa) Not much is said about Daisuke’s Dad until he pops up out of nowhere in book 3. He’s very quiet, but is more then he appears. He met Daisuke’s mom in college, where she was asking every man if he would bare her child. (She wants to raise the great thief, you see) She had rejected most men for little reasons, ‘oh, you don’t like kids,” “you don’t wanna marry” that kind of thing. So about ten of these guys she had rejected where demanding that she choose one of them, and accidentally pushed her out into a train. Daisuke dad jumps out to save her at the last minute, and gives her a white ribbon. (he agreed to take Emiko’s last name too. Aww…) But as sweet as that is, for some reason he hasn’t even meet Daisuke before his surprise visit in book 4 . (some dad I know…) |
| Daisuke’s Grandpa (Grandpa Niwa???) Daisuke Grandpa got to be the great thief at one time like Daisuke. But now, he seems a bit nuts… oh well…there was this special story about in book 4, where Dark when to Steal AGATELINKS. This was an odd thing for Dark to steal, seeing how it didn’t below to the Hikari family and Satoshi wouldn’t be there trying to stop him. When Dark got there however, a beautiful girl was waiting for him. Acting as if she had known Dark, she begs him to wait a night before stealing AGATELINKS. (Which is a necklace she had been wearing) But the next night, one of Daisuke’s friends is trying to protect the necklace. (He of course, just likes the girl) It’s a little more trouble then usual, but everything turns out okay because after Dark takes it, Daisuke brings it back to her. When Daisuke got home, His Grandpa and Dark explain that they had in fact met the girl, some 40 years ago. They visited her while returning home from Dark’s usual ‘plans’. She had always been very ill, so Dark decided to steal this necklace for her, but when he/they went to give it to her, she has already died. Dark left the necklace with her. Yet somehow, she had been sealed to the necklace. And her soul was forced to stay with it. When Daisuke brought the Necklace back to her earlier, She had thought it was Daisuke’s Grandpa (yes, they look that much alike) and had been able to rest in peace. (I know, that didn’t have too much to do with Daisuke’s grandpa, plus I beat I screwed up on some parts, but it was a good story anyways right?) |

| Risa Harada Risa is very cute, but she’s also very annoying, whiny and just plain dumb at some points. *Is beat up Risa fans* But she’s got good points! And good taste. She falls for with Dark, (and even gets to kiss him! No fair!) But the problem with her and her twin Riku is that, as the story line starts to go places, they get left behind in the dark. (No pun intended) Neither of them knows about the Dark/Daisuke thing, or about half the things that go on in the comic. |
| Riku Harada Riku is more independent than her sister, and a lot funnier. She once said that every new thing Daisuke did he reminded her of a woman. But later she ended up falling for him so…I guess that was a good thing… In my opinion, she’s not as cute as Risa, but I do like her more. Enough though she hates Dark for some reason. |
| Satoshi Hiwitari Aww yes. Satoshi. Gotta love this guy. His blood family is dead, but he does have an almost nonexistence relationship with his adopted dad. He was originally born a Hikari, but his adopted Last name is Hiwitari. He is 14 years old, and in the same class as Daisuke. However, he already has a college degree. He lives at home, and is kinda a loner, but that’s what makes him so cool! He’s pretty much the top of the police force, takes orders from no one, and he’s only 14! Hell, he even cross dresses! Satoshi obsessively tries to catch Dark throughout most of the manga. You don’t know why exactly until the fourth book. It turns out that the Hikari clan ahs a secret their own. And Satoshi thought that if he could capture dark; he wouldn’t have to worry about this Clan secret. And he probably wouldn’t have. But, in the fourth book, after Satoshi had sealed dark into the mirror world leaving Daisuke unconscious (in other words, actually catching dark) he kneels next to Daisuke and tells him he is sorry for hurting him. Yet, even though Satoshi had just taken Dark form Daisuke, the younger boy still whispers Satoshi’s name in his sleep. This shocks Satoshi, as he realizes that someone actually cares for him. And because in order to avoid the clan secret you couldn’t ever care for anyone, Satoshi starts to transform. He becomes the ice demon, Krad. More about him below. It’s really very cool how it’s set up, Satoshi is the opposite of Daisuke, and Krad is the opposite of Dark. Yet they kinda go together…oh leave me alone I’m a yaoi fanatic. |
| Krad Krad is like the Dark Half of Satoshi. Only, he’s so selfish He wants Satoshi to love only him. Therefore, he wishes to kill all others who Satoshi has half a feeling for. This isn’t good for Poor Daisuke. Apparently Krad had some kind of relationship with Dark in the past, and now he hates Dark. He’s supposed to be Dark’s opposite. Dark, Krad. Black wings, white wings. Ya get it?. |
| With With is the Niwa Pet. He’s a bunny…cat…cabbit...thingy…. He’s been helping Dark out for who knows how long. He can turn into most anything, which includes a pair of very cool wings for Dark. Daisuke teaches him to say some stuff as the comic goes on, but With isn’t very good at speaking it as well as just understanding it. He can’t even say Daisuke’s name right, instead he says “daisuki!” or ‘I love you!” and poor With always says this to the wrong people, at the wrong time. |
