      Daniel Jones
Place of Birth: Essex, London, England
Date of Birth: Sunday, July 22nd, 1973

Daniel Jones was born on July 22, 1973 in Essex, England. He is the youngest of three bothers all of whom are extremely musical. At the age of 8 months Daniel came out to Australia with his family and moved to Brisbane in Queensland, Australia. By the time Daniel was seven he had begun piano lessons and hated them because they were not seen as cool by his peers. Daniel eventually followed in his older brothers footsteps and became interested in both guitars and drums. At the end of year 10, Daniel left school to further pursue his career by playing both the keyboard and guitar in a band at local pubs. Eventually Daniel joined a band named Red Edge with his brothers and a few friends. In search of a lead singer they placed an advertisement in a local music magazine requiring a serious lead vocalist. Darren Hayes replied to this advertisement and performed with Daniel Jones and the rest of the band playing covers in local pubs. Eventually, Darren and Daniel began writing their own music (separate from the band) and left to try and get a record deal (after realising their song To the moon and back had potential). Daniel played both keyboard and guitar accompaniment to the songs. The duo sent out 150 demo tapes receiving one reply from John Woodruff. Woodruff approached all of the major record companies to sign the duo and they all passed. Woodruff then mortgaged his house to get the band started. Daniel currently still lives in Brisbane, Australia near his parents house with his girlfriend (Michelle) and dog (Jackson). Savage Garden have released two albums Savage Garden and Affirmation selling in excess of 15 million albums and counting. They have had two major world tours and won countless awards.
