Old Pearce
Preservation Association
In 1895 John Pearce discovered gold and the town of Pearce, Arizona Territory was born. With that discovery Pearce became a boom town. And like most boom towns once the mine played out it slowly became a ghost town.
But today there are a handful people living in Old Pearce. There are even two shops in town and the school is full of kids. The school as well as several other buildings are all from the boom town days. But way too many buildings have been lost .
To save what is left the Old Pearce Preservation Association was formed in 2008. O.P.P.A. is a non-profit group dedicated to preserving the history of the town of Pearce.
