Times of India calles it the "dance of democracy"! Well only some 50% of Indians enjoy this dance. Even among them, most are passive. The dancing group is confined to a few politicians!

UPA has been projected to get 210 to 225 seats in the Lok Sabha elections, way ahead of NDA, according to a private TV channel.
BJP-led NDA is expected to get 180 to 195 seats, according to "final projections" based on a national election study by CNN-IBN in association with newspaper Danik Bhaskar.

Contrary to the general perception, the study said DMK and its allies are set to "sweep" Tamil Nadu getting 47% of the vote share against AIDMK's 34%.

In a similar study released by the channel two days ago, it had projected UPA getting 185-205 seats while the BJP-led NDA was expected to secure 165 to 185 seats. It had given 110 to 130 seats to the Third Front and the Fourth Front between 25 and 35 seats.

'Others' were likely to get 20 to 30 seats, according to earlier figures.

In the latest projections, Congress is also expected to emerge as the single largest party with 158 to 173 seats against BJP, whose tally is put at 132 to 147.

The projections are based on the national election study done by Centre for the Study of Developing Societies (CSDS) across 28 states and the final figures are based on all five rounds.

The channel also projected that Left parties could get 30 to 40 seats as Trinamool Congress led by Mamata Banerjee is expected to give a tough fight to them.

Mayawati is expected to have a marginal advantage in Uttar Pradesh and can win 24 to 32 seats, the study said adding the Fourth Front, comprising her arch rival Mulayam Singh Yadav's SP, Lalu Prasad's RJD and LJP of Ram Vilas Paswan, could get 25 to 35 seats.

The Third Front, that includes Left parties, could get 95 to 110 seats while others are expected to account for 17 to 25.

Dancing Day afterall, People stands for stability of the Nation!

Large states like UP and Bihar used to be the winning trumpcards for Congress.  This is no longer the case. The worst is that neither BJP has any advantage in these states. The regional parties have the advantage here. Mayavati's BSP (Third Front) and still worse the Fourth Front parties like SP, RJD and LJP may share the seats in UP and Bihar.  Though BSP has some good people, other leaders remind one of  the old 'Aya Ram, Gaya Ram' politics (1970s) of Northern India. These parties can join any front! They have absolutely no ideology whatsoever!  Add to this the South Indian regional parties like DMK, AIADMK, TDP and so on! Many other single-man and double-man family parties will also support whoever is ruling and will try to become ministers! (Recall Kerala Congress man PC Thomas!)

It is reported that at least 25% of the candidates have criminal records! Even a highly literate and politically conscious state like Kerala is on the record of supporting and electing a former teenage-prostitue-abuser as an MP and MLAs!  A Norther state today is fielding a man convicted of murder as a candidate! Anything can happen in India!
