Spider Thumbprint Cookies
COOKIE DOUGH INGREDIENTS
1 cup butter
1 1/2 cup white sugar
2eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
2cups all-purpose flour
1tsp baking powder
1 pinch salt
FILLING INGREDIENTS
1 cup powdered sugar
2 tbsp softened butter or margerine
4tsp milk
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
all colors food coloring
DIRECTIONS
In a large bowl,cream together the butter and sugar untill fluffy.Beat in the eggs one at a time,then stir in the vanilla extract.Combine the flour,baking powder and salt;gradually blend into the creamed mixture to form a soft dough.Cover dough and refrigerate over night.

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.On a floured surface,roll the dough out 1/4 inch thick.Cut with round biscuit cutter.Place cookies 2inches apart on lightly greased cookie sheet.

Bake for 10 mins.or until very  light brown.Imediatly after removing cookies from oven,use the back of a spoon to make thumbprints in the center.

Prepare the filling: Combine powdered sugar,softened butter or margerine,milk and vanilla extract in a small bowl;beat on high speed until smooth.Set a small amount aside.
In the larger amount combine a few drops of each color untill you have a black mixture.
In the small amount mix red food coloring.

Heat mixture for a few seconds in the microwave until it can be poured out with a spoon.

Spoon black mixture into the thumbprints you have made in the cookies.Let dry about 5 mins.
Using a toothpick,make eight long, black,skinny legs coming out the sides of your thumbprints.
Using another toothpick,use the red mixture to make eyes for your spiders.

Let dry for about 30mins. and ENJOY your spider thumbprint cookies.
