Randy Lippincott toured the world as johnny Copeland's bassist and bandleader. He has also recorded and toured with Big Bill Morganfield, Eddie Kirkland, Bo Diddley, Jimmy Rogers, Mick Taylor, Louisiana Red, Luther Guitar Jr. Johnson, (whose lastest recording, featuring Randy on bass, was nominated for a Grammy), and many other well know blues artists. Randy holds the record for appearing at the Pocono Blues Festival more times than anyone else, backing up various artists.
Randy is one of the best blues guitarists around. His determined, purposeful playing lacks the many extraneous notes which rock guitarists who think they're playing the blues invariably feel compelled to add to their solos. Randy knows just about every blues song ever recorded. Attendance at a Randy Lippincott show should be mandatory for anyone interested in blues guitar the way it should be played.
