Just One of Those Days:

Chapter 1:

It was two weeks after Sonny and Alexis had returned from Puerto Rico. They had gotten back to their normal and stressful lives. Sonny had to deal with Carly and the adoption precedings with Micheal. Ofcourse Carly gave him a hard time with her delusions that Sonny had some hot affair with Alexis in Puerto Rico which ofcourse did not happen. But they did have a lot of fun, more than they had had in a long time. Alexis on the other hand was trying to deal with her emotions of Ned and Sonny. And then there was her sister Kristina who wanted to become a singer now with Ned's help. She loved Kristina but her new career brought up painful memories of their mother who was a singer and died at the hand of Hellena.

Alexis took a few days off of work and decided to redocorate the Penthouse. Since Kristina was busy most of the time with Ned at the studio recording, she knew she would have the place all to herself now. She needed the peace and quiet and just to keep her mind preoccupied with something creative for once. After she smashed most of her ornaments that day Sonny came over and helped her deal with her bottled up pain, she thought she would buy some new ones that she actually liked. She was also getting tired of her furniture and was planning to get rid of some of her stuff after the penthouses blew up when Sorel held them hostage.

Alexis had on a pair of loose blue jeans and a white t-shirt tucked neatly in that said "Bite Me" . She borrowed it from Kristina. And her hair was up in a cute little ponytail neatly pulled back. The apartment was empty now because she had some movers take everything and put them in a storage garage. Now her place was filled with a ladder, paint cans and brushes. She couldn't decide what color to paint everything with so she bought every color she could think of that she liked and had the store send them over. She would try them all until she figured out what to do. Why not? She had nothing better to do, no man in her life right now to try to please and no work since she took time off.

Meanwhile outside her door, Sonny had just gotten off the elevator with Johnny and tripped over a box. "Damn it. Who left this here!" , Sonny said in a angry tone. " Boss are u alright." Johnny said concerned trying to appease the boss's anger with a calm voice. "Do I look alright?" Sonny just had one of his fights with Carly and was not in the mood. His soon to be ex-wife decided that she needed time to think about him adopting Micheal since she did not like the idea of Alexis being his stepmother. Sonny tried to convince her that there was nothing between him and Alexis but a work relationship and friendship. But Carly only hears what she wants, Sonny gave up and left. "The boxes belong to Ms. Davis, she is redecorating the penthouse. The movers left some of the new stuff she bought in the hallway. Do you want me to get rid of it boss?" said Johnny. "No, it's alright." Sonny said getting soft at the mention of Alexis. Johnny noticed his change of mood at the mention of the boss's neighbor. " I need to speak to her anyway." Sonny said rubbing his foot and walking over to her and knocked.

"Come in." yelled Alexis from the other side of the door. Sonny opened the door and caught the sight of Alexis dressed casually and was on top of a high ladder trying to paint above the fireplace. She was also struggling to keep balance with the a few paint cans on the mantle on and a brush in one hand. "Alexis you should be careful." Sonny said concerned. "Hey Sonny, I'm okay, just give me a second." Alexis said stroking different colors of paint on the wall and then looking back to see which one she liked the most. Sonny bent and shook his head at the way she wasn't being careful but at the same time smiled at her little girl look. She looked relaxed since their Puerto Rico trip.

All of a sudden, Sonny was knocked out of his thoughts by a scream! Alexis tripped trying to come down the ladder and before he knew it he dashed over across the room to her and caught her quickly in his arms. He held her tight against his chest and Alexis's eyes opened looking back up into his chocolate caring eyes in shock with her arms wrapped around his neck. "Now that is what I call falling for a man." Alexis said before she could stop the words from coming out. She realized she just said that to a man that she couldn't seem to get out of her thoughts. Sonny concentrated his eyes on her soft pink lips, "Really?" Sonny said looking back into her soft brown eyes with an arched eyebrow. Alexis quickly and nervously moved her body down to the floor out his arms and straightened herself out. Sonny straightened out his coat and suit and put his hands in his pocket looking back at her wondering what she meant by that or was it just a joke he thought to himself? "Thanks." , Alexis said. Sonny just nodded.

"So what are you doing here?" Alexis said still trying to breathe. "I came to tell you that there might be a problem with the adoption for Micheal. I just wanted to give you a heads up. "Sorry." Alexis said sincerely wiping paint off her hands with a rag. She knew this was hard for Sonny. He looked tired and worn out like he always did after fighting with Carly. She couldn't understand how Carly could betray Sonny so many times and with the Feds of all things. She knew Sonny had endured a lot of pain his whole life, and it boggled her mind that a woman who claims to love him would cause him so much more pain.

"You know Alexis, you really shouldn't be painting alone." Sonny said changing the subject. " I can do this myself." Alexis said thinking that Sonny was implying that a woman couldn't handle things like painting on her own. "I know, I know." Sonny said shaking his head up and down, but you almost got hurt just now. You need someone to look out for you." Sonny said only trying to be a good friend. "That's why I have you Corinthos, remember?" Alexis said smiling back. Sonny returned back a smile. " Glad you agree, I will back in a few. Don' t do anything until I get back." Sonny said walking out the door not giving Alexis a chance to respond. "What are you up to now Sonny?" Alexis thought.

Chapter 2:

Alexis was now struggling to open a can of paint on a wooden table Johnny brought up for her. Sonny quietly walked in smiling at how cute Alexis looked pounding the cover with her fist and mumbling something under her breath. He crept up behind her and encircled his arms around her. Her hair smelled so sweet to him.

"You know, if you need help, you just have to ask." He whispered in her ear startling her. Alexis froze and felt like she was going to stop breathing now. What does Corinthos think he is doing now, Alexis thought to herself.

Sonny grabbed the wooden stick that was on the table and gently placed it in Alexis's hand. "Here let me show you how to do it." Sonny said looking at her over her shoulder, she turned to her side and for a second she almost got hypnotized by his deep brown eyes.

Alexis turned back forward nervously focusing her eyes on his strong hands. His touch was electric. He grabbed her hand and helped her position the stick under the edge of the cover. He came up closer pressing his hard body up against her back. She inhaled the smell of his cologne. Alexis wondered if he could hear how fast her heart was now beating.

Firmly holding the stick with her hand, "See, you have to adjust the stick gently under and then with a good hard push, up and down moving faster with every push, it will release." Sonny said in a slow husky voice. And after saying that, the cover on the paint can popped open snapping Alexis out of her wandering thoughts.

Alexis just stood there quietly for a moment and then finally she blurted out " Thanks Sonny." "No problem counsellor." Sonny said with a wicked grin releasing her soft hand. Alexis finally turned around to face him.

Sonny stood before her wearing a tight blue t-shirt that showed off his every muscle and a pair blue jeans. Alexis crossed her arms looking Sonny up and down while biting her the side of her pink lips which did not go unnoticed by Sonny. He was surprised by how Alexis made him feel nervous but also her gaze turned him on.

Alexis enjoyed watching Sonny be the one feeling uncomfortable for once and gave him back a mischievous smile. She continued checking him out as she walked around him in a circle. "Like what you see?" Sonny said teasingly. Oh yeah, Alexis thought to herself. Cute butt, drop dead gourgeous dimples...OMG Alexis, what's the matter with you! This is your client and friend. Stop thinking of him that way!, Alexis yelled at herself.

Alexis got shy again, shrugging her shoulders with her hands now placed in her back jeans pockets. "It's just that I have never seen you dress like that before, ordinary." Alexis said looking back into his eyes now wondering what he was doing here. "I could say the same for you." Sonny said giving her a quick glance again. Alexis was always dressed in those power suits that covered up her every curve. Curves that he only imagined were there and got to see when she was with him in Puerto Rico.

"What are you doing?" Alexis said curiously. "Well, I just thought you could use some help, that's all." Sonny said looking around her penthouse. "That's only if you don't mind having a man around to help." Sonny said hoping she wouldn't protest.

Alexis looked at Sonny questioningly and at the same time with an annoyed look. She wondered why he didn't just have one of his men like Johnny or Max come help her but decided not to ask. She was glad for the company. His company. A man that made her tingle inside but at the same time made her feel safe and okay to just be herself.

"Sure, I could use you." Alexis said with an innocent smile and Sonny looked back at her with an arched eyebrow, nodded and went across the room to get some paintbrushes and Alexis returned to her paint can. When she turned her side to him stirring the paint with the stick, Sonny looked back at her angelic face and then went back to doing what he was doing.

Chapter 3:

Sonny and Alexis spent hours painting her apartment, from the kitchen to the living room. Their clothes were covered in paint from their hard work. Sonny enjoyed watching Alexis fuss over the colors and supervising him on the way she wanted it done. No one tells Sonny Corinthos what to do. But he made an exception this time. He wanted her to have it done just the way she wanted. He wanted her to be happy. She had been through a lot the past few months. Everytime she smiled, Sonny couldn' t help but be content and smile too.

The only room left to paint was her bedroom. When they got up there, Alexis felt weird having Sonny in her room. She remembers the night she had that dream where he kissed her passionately and when she woke up he was standing there by her bed. She still didn' t know why he was up here in the first place and in her room, but felt too embarassed after her dream to ask him.

Alexis placed the paint cans down on the floor and Sonny put the ladder down to brace on the side wall. " Alexis are you okay?" Sonny said. " Me, ofcourse, I'm fine." Alexis said nervously. " Let's start with that wall." Alexis pointed to the one he put the ladder to rest on. "Okay. Are you sure your okay? You look tired Alexis." Alexis was tired. The smell of the paint was getting to her. "Yeah, I just want to finish this last room. You know, if your tired, I can do this on my own." Alexis said concerned that she was taking up Sonny's time. Sonny nodded his head, " I'm fine, besides we will get this done quicker working together."

Alexis was using a paintbrush and Sonny was on the ladder next to her painting the ceiling. He came down when done and Alexis turned at the same time with her brush accidently causing some white paint to get all over Sonny's shirt. " Oh no, Sonny I am so sorry." Alexis said and finally giggling at Sonny who was now looking down at his shirt. Sonny looked up at her with a serious face. Alexis stopped giggling immediately. " Sonny, I really am sorry, I'll get you a new shirt." Alexis said worried by the look on his face now. Sonny walked up slowly to her, " You thought that was funny?" he said in a stern tone.

Alexis just looked back at him quietly with innocent eyes. Before she knew it, Sonny grabbed the paintbrush from her, grabbed her body by the waist to him and was throwing paint all over her clothes and face laughing with a satisfied grin. "Oooh Corinthos!" Alexis said yelling, trying to get out of his grasp now laughing. Alexis tried to get back possession of the brush while Sonny held it in the air taunting her. "Give me that!" Alexis said annoyed and at the same time enjoying herself.

Sonny just smiled at her child like behavior. Alexis then ended up inches from Sonny's face when she tried to grab it again. Sonny looked down at her lips and Alexis stopped and looked back at him. She lowered her hand on to his chest softly. He lowered down his hand with the brush never taking his eyes off of her luscious lips. With his other hand it rubbed her bottom lip with his thumb. He slowly brought his lips closer to hers....

Chapter 4:

Alexis realized what was happening and immediately backed away and walked away leaving Sonny just standing there wondering what he was about to do." I think we are done now, don't you?" Alexis said closing the paint can not daring to look back at Sonny. Sonny didn' t answer. She took his silence as a yes. He just stood there and watched Alexis leave the bedroom with the paint cans.

He grabbed the ladder and followed her downstairs. He stopped in the middle of the stairs and paused. "No. No, we're not done Alexis." Alexis turned to him with a questioned look. He put the ladder down next to another ladder that was by the door. " It's time we discussed this."

"This." Alexis repeated knowing full well what Sonny was talking about. "Yes, this. I don' t even know how to describe what "this" is." Sonny said standing in front of her now confused himself. Alexis said nothing. Sonny continued, "The games we play. The flirting." Alexis still stood there in silence. "The attraction." Sonny finally said in a low whisper. He searched her eyes for some sort of response while Alexis tried to absorb in her mind what Sonny just said to her. For a second, she felt like she would really stop breathing. Her heart was now racing.

She didn't know what to do. She had buried her feelings for so long and now Sonny was opening the door to them. Alexis closed her eyes and shook her head no and attempted to walk away only to have Sonny hold her arm stopping her gently. Alexis looked up into his eyes pleadingly. "Sonny, please don't do this." She finally said returning his soft whisper.

"I won't keep doing this anymore Alexis. I can't. We have been denying our feelings for too long. At first, I thought it was just because I was lonely, missing Carly. But the past few months, I have realized that it's so much more. I know you feel it too." Sonny said now rubbing his hand warmly over her arm, which sent shivers down her body.

Alexis now was in shock. She didn't know Sonny felt the same way and here he was confessing it to her. She looked down, " I thought..." Alexis said stammering. "You thought what Alexis?

Alexis looked back up into his trusting eyes. "I thought you just saw me as your lawyer." "And friend." Sonny finished. "Best friend." Alexis said smiling. Sonny smiled back at her.

"But we aren't just friends, are we?" Sonny said tilting his head hoping that she would agree. "No, we're not just friends. We have a lawyer and client relationship too." Alexis said casually. "And..." Sonny said waiting for her to go on. Alexis smiled again. " And more." she finally said in a low tone giving Sonny the satisfaction of knowing he wasn't alone in his feelings. "Much more." Sonny said leaning in closer again to kiss her.

Alexis immediately stopped Sonny pressing her palm on his chest. "Woah there Romeo. You might move that quick with your past girlfriends, but not with this woman you don't." Alexis said enjoying Sonny's pout.

Sonny couldn' t wait any longer. He was getting impatient with lust. "So, I don' t get anything for all my hard work today? I think I have earned to atleast get to first base." Sonny said flashing his dimples in a boyish grin.

"Mmmm... let me think." Alexis said tapping her finger on the side of her head playfully.

"Sweetheart, I thought you knew me better than that. It wasn't a question. It was a statement."

Sonny grabbed the sides of her face and planted a sweet lingering kiss on her pink lips. He pulled back. Alexis opened her eyes clearly filled with desire now. She grabbed him by the shirt and pulled him back in for a l onger more passionate kiss. Sonny groaned in her mouth, exploring every inch of it with his tongue. Alexis released her mouth from his.

"That was one strong statement." Alexis said giggling. "So... did you earn your pay?" she said in a sultry voice wrapping her arms around his neck as he placed his on her tiny waist.

Sonny licked the side of his bottom lip staring down at her lips. "I think I deserve a bonus."

"Is that so? Is that a demand?" Alexis said enjoying the game.

"Oh yeah." Sonny said nodding.

He went in for another kiss, bending down as her body leaned in above him. He came back up again never ending the kiss while she massaged her fingers through his curly black locks. Sonny began removing the bottom of her shirt from it's neatly tucked position in her jeans and at the same time moved her backwards toward the wooden table. Still never breaking the kiss, Sonny gently placed the upper half of her body on it placing himself on top.

He moved his lips down to her neck and roamed his hand under her shirt to the side of the silky breast her bra revealed while his other hand's palm rested on top of her head. Alexis moaned in satisfaction. Sonny smiled against her silky neck. He then proceeded to tease her nipple with his thumb until it hardened. Alexis arched herself against his hardness.

"Sonny.."

"Alexis.." Sonny moaned.

"Sonny..." Alexis said pushing her body up so to stand back up with his.

"What?" Sonny said lazily leaning in and ready to devour her neck again.

"Sonny, we can' t do this." Sonny moved back to look at her feeling rejected. "Not like this." She said breathlessly. "Not our first time."

Sonny looked back at her with love in his eyes and kissed her tenderly on the lips. "Your right. As much as I want to take you to my bed right now and make love to you all night, we shouldn't rush this. We have all the time in the world and I want it to be perfect." he said with his hands on the sides of her face rubbing his thumbs softly on her flushed cheeks.

Alexis sighed. She was relieved that Sonny agreed with her. "I want you just as bad, but we have been through so much. I just want us to be sure when it does happen that there will be no regrets."

Sonny understood. He smoothed out her brown hair with his fingers that was now loose from her ponytail as they looked deep into eachother's intense eyes.

I'm not going to screw this up, they both thought.

"Come on, I'll cook you dinner. You can take a shower at my penthouse since yours is such a mess anyway." Sonny said opening the door for her. "Sounds good to me." Alexis said walking out.

She turned back to him when she got into the hall." It was a pretty good day today, don't you think?" she said and proceeded to his door. Sonny smiled to himself. "Just One of Those Days." He said closing her penthouse door shut.
