Years I have raised rabbits- 2 1/2 years
Hobbies- Breeding and raising show rabbits, showing horses and rabbits, playing sports, hanging out with my friends, having tons of fun wiht my friends and partying with them, and spending time with my family
Working with Rabbits- I TRY to get each and every rabbit out daily to brush them, work on flipping them, work on their poses, and a little bit of excersize. I like to flip and pose them so its not any problem for judges, ect.
Breeding- I strive for perfection in my rabbitry. When i breed rabbits i try to make the best couple that I can. I like to bred two rabbits that complement each other. I also like to experment when I breed and LOVE to get different colors. I just hate it when I go to a show and all the rabbits on the table is the same color. People tell me not to breed for color, breed for quality well i don't listen to that all the time I like to get different colors. When i breed two weeks later I palpate the doe and if I strongly don't think she is bred then i rebreed her, but if I have and unsureness then I just wait and see. I like to wean kits around 5-6 weeks of age depending if they are doing well or not. I do not sell a rabbit younger than 8 weeks. But like to keep my rabbits until they are about show age then show them and from there sell what I don't want or need.
Fairs- I tend the Miami Co. Fair in early August every year with my 4-H club. I only bring two or three rabbits. Usually my favorite and easiest to handle. Also at the fair I like to do showmanship and the Rabbit Royality Test. I enjoy learning new things every year!
My rabbits are kept in a very big 7 room unfinished basement. Its not to cold in the winter and not to hot in the summer. As you might see my rabbits are pretty spolied!!
