| "Here Ye! Here Ye!" Written By: Janine Infante SBR Rough Neck #1 "If you thought S&C fans were a force to be reckoned with, You haven't seen nothing yet!" Here ye! Here ye! For years we've drank to the day that has come before us. A day where we stand at the town square, (in this case SBR) and rejoice! For it has happened, the dismantling of the s'more eating, couch sex, beach bumb and the model routine! The dismantling of the lies, the 3 weddings and thank God for small favors no babies! So lift your mug and wave your chicken as the "nobody leaves" bullshit gets beheaded, along with the "Perfect Family"! You know the saying "Out with the old, in with the new"? The more I watch General Hospital the more I believe that quote may be true to form as we embark on the new year. What do I mean by out with the old? The dismantling of Sonny & Carly, and Jax and Brenda. In with the new? Opening a new love. Sure they've been together before, but look at the characters of Sonny and Brenda? They have matured. They are understanding and trust eachother. She trusts him with the fate of this case as much as he trusts her with the knowledge she gives him to help set her and Jason free. Now this may be just me being the optimistica whack job of this site, preaching for all Sonny and Brenda fans not to give up, that we are bound to have our day eventually. But this time, I come to you in good faith, not just optimism and hopes. So let me explain the logic behind my suspisions. Sonny and Carly: After watching the New Years Eve episode and hearing it foreshadows the destruction of Sonny & Carly's "perfect" family, in February I began to take notice more and more of the couple, or shall I say doomed couple. The scoops say the heart of the Corinthos family is demolished. And while the Sonny and Carly fans figure it's Mike- What? He's on once a year if we're lucky he hardly holds Sonny and Carly together. However little Michael does! There is no family without the child. Michael's portrayer Dylan Cash's contract is up in January- perfect timing for the February reveal. If you think back to the NYE episode, Catherine loses her little boy. And it's very likely Mikey can be a goner. It would be a great storyline give all those involved a chance to shine as actors and actresses and sad as it is- you may see Sonny and Carly find their console in the arms of others. Particularly Brenda, for Sonny. Also if you take notice, they are prepping Carly for an independant role. With the opening of her club, wishing to be seperated from the title of "Sonny's wife" and make a name for herself. Sound familar? To me it sounds just the way it did when Sonny and Carly had split for the upteenth time and she was in "Independant Woman" mode. To add to that you have the latest scenes between Sonny and Carly. Sonny's so wrapped up in clearing Jason's name or is he? Yes Jason is his best friend but it's also an excuse to clear Brenda's. The loyalty Carly feels for Jason is the same for the loyalty Sonny feels for Brenda. And as Guza stated it's a rat race to see who frees Brenda first. So everytime something new emerges with this case and Sonny bids Carly adieu, she looks like she's just waitng for the day he walks out the door and doesn't come back. That's why it seems as though they are always saying their "final" goodbyes. Jax and Brenda: It's pretty obvious here, for one doesn't have to read too much between the lines. Jax is an asshole, plain and simple. He's got this vendetta that he's never going to be Sonny in Brenda's eyes. And as we know that's true, you would think Brenda would stop trying to convince him. He has always played second fiddle to Sonny and he always will. He is going out of his mind trying to crack the case before Sonny, finding ways to get Brenda off, even if it means declaring her insane. Jax and Brenda rarely fought, yet lately they fight more then they speak. So you say they've got this big wedding coming in February- and those Jax and Brenda fans are ripping off our slogan- They just lack originality as does Jax. Can't help it. But forget that. The wedding doesn't happen. Hmm...Thats three weddings that crashed and burned. HINT it's not meant to be. Also have you noticed that Jax and Brenda fans can't even take the new Jax anymore. The story line in my oppinion was rushed and doesn't work anymore. He is not the man that Brenda was with years ago. And his change was not for the better. Honestly you dont need much reasoning to see the destruction of this couple. They NEVER last, because as long as there is Sonny, there is Brenda wanting him, dreaming her first love will be her last. And if all that isn't enough you've got this incredible scene on Thursday. It starts off Sonny left alone in Brenda's old bedroom. First he smells her perfume, then he opens a drawer and pulls out a piece of lingerie. His look like "That bastard saw her in this." Violently he puts it back and sees the safe. "How 'bout Brenda's birthday?" Only a man in love with her would know that another who was in love with her might chose that. Then you have him throwing a photo of her and Alcazar together to the floor. When he sees Jax' photo he picks it up and his expression reads, "Wheres my photo?" Sniff. THE BEST however is the call. "Were you ever really happy here?" "No I missed my old life." "Well you got it back" "Yeah.....be careful." He hangs up and she thinks back to when Alcazar found Sonny's photo and destroyed it. Now I don't know about you Sonny & Brenda Fans, but I read it like this. "I have everything back but you." In due time. -January 2003- |
