| Sonny "Dies" Seeing Brenda's Face September 17, 2002 Transcribed by Heather (Vice President of SBR) *Amazing Grace Montage replayed* (Carly lighting the candle, Rain pouring down and Sonny walking through on a street towards the church, Brenda sitting in a pew at the church, Roy outside the church hiding behind some tall bushes waiting, Brenda rising from the pew and starting to leave, Roys standing behind the bushes looking at the entrance way to Saint Timothy's...waiting, Jason looking at his watch then exiting the limo and heading towards the church, Brenda opening the first set of doors as she goes to exit the church, Sonny coming up on the entrance to Saint Timothy's Church, Roy getting the gun cocked and ready, Carly pouring a glass of wine, Sonny entering the grounds of Saint Timothy's and Roy watching him, Sonny walking towards the doors of Saint Timothy's and Carly taking a sip of wine and then spitting it out and dropping the glass, the glass starts to fall, Brenda approaches the main doors of Saint Timothy's and puts her hands on the door handles, Sonny walking towards the doors, Roy starting to make his move around the tall bushes, Brenda begins to open the doors, Sonny stands and waits to see who it is, He takes a step back as she opens them further, He realizes who it is, the glasses breaks on the floor spilling all of the red wine, Brenda sets her eyes on Sonny and he on her, He looks at her in utter shock and she smiles from ear to ear and begins to laugh, Camera flashes back and forth between the two of them, Roy raises his arm and points the gun at Sonnys back, He begins to shoot) Brenda - *screams* NOOOOO!!! More gunshots Roy leaves, Brenda runs to Sonny in slow motion, She turns his body over from its side and cradles his head in her hand while the other is around his waist, she is crying, she takes her other hand (which is shaking) and places it on Sonnys cheek, Sonny looks up at Brenda and then closes his eyes again. end scene {Thunder} Sonny looks up at Brenda again and then closes his eyes. Jason walks up on them. Jason looks over at Sonny and Brenda. Brenda notices blood on her hand. S - Get her outta here Jason grabs Brenda from behind, basically throwing her int he air and begins to carry her off. Sonny is left laying on the ground. B - No!, I'm staying with him!. I'm going to stay with him! I'm going to stay with him! Let me---Let me go! Please let me go! Let me go! S - Brenda-- Sonny is left laying on the floor in the pouring rain, blood around him. Jason throws Brenda into the back seat of the Limo. Brenda starts to basically try and break down the door of the limo to get back to Sonny. J - Max go! B- Damn! I dont need you to protect me anymore! J - Calm down! B - Go to Hell! Let me out! J - Knock it off. Jason pulls out his cell phone and begins to call someone. B- what are you doing? J- Ok, just be--Just be quiet. Yeah a man was shot in front of Saint Timothy's Church get an ambulance there as fast as you can. Brenda trys to grab the cell phone from Jason. B- Who was that? J- Knock it--- B- I want you to take me back to Sonny right now! J- Shut up B - Take me back now! J- SHUT UP! Jason makes a second phone call C- Hello? J- Saint Timothy's Church, Sonny needs you get there as fast as you can B- Who was that? I want you to take me to Sonny now. J - How long have you been with Alcazar? *end of scene* *next scene* Limo - Jason and Brenda continued B- Luis Alcazar saved my life, he rescued me from drowning J - What? You've been with him every since you left? B - Oh Im sorry, are we catching up now? The only thing I wanna talk to you about is why we left Sonny bleeding on the ground! J- Because every move --Listen to me, every move that Alcazar made against Sonny has been because of you, Brenda! B- I know. Thats why I went to the church to warn him. Now you tell me whats going on. J- Ok do you listen, did you hear what Sonny said? B- Who'd you send to go get him? J- Do you think I would rather be here fighting with you then helping Sonny? He told me to protect you and thats exactly what I intend to do whether you like it or not! *end scene* *next scene* Jason and Brenda in the safe house Jason carries Brenda into the bedroom kicking and screaming. She fights to get away from him then realizes its a losing battle. B - Alright Alright! What are we doing here you idiot? J - We're doing what Sonny needs us to do. B- Jason, just tell me--is he ok? J- The paramedics should be there by now. There's nothing we can do. B- All right, like thats all you know. Why dont you call? J- Why dont you tell me this, If Alcazar pulled you outta the water what does that make him to you? A hero or-- B- Oh I see, Im supposed to tell you everything J - Just answer me! B- I dont know anything J - Do you know he's an arms dealer? B- How about this? I'll tell you whatever it is you want to know about Alcazar if you tell me what the hell is going on, because unless you've changed I know that you would never leave Sonny laying there like that J - Why did you stay with Alcazar? B- Because Im sick J - What, your not responsible for what you do? B - No. I dont want to hurt the people that I love the way my mother hurt me. J - What does your crazy mother have to do with you staying with Alcazar? B- My mother had a genetic illness, she gave it to me. This man promised me that no matter how sick or dangerous I got, that he would keep me away from the people that I love. J- So when you decided to turn your life over to Alcazar did you even bother to ask what he did for a living? B - Look, Jason, I dont know anything about this guys business. Ya know he doesn't discuss it in my presence. Its not exactly a foreign concept to me. J- Ok, so what did you need to tell Sonny that was so important that you came out of hiding after 4 years? B- All right, listen. I heard Luis tell a guy to kill Sonny. I wanted to warn him. I tried to get to a phone I couldn't get to a phone, so I sank the yacht because it was the only way I could get off. J - and thats when you called him at the penthouse? B- Yes J- Ok, so why not warn him then Brenda? Why the church? Why waste time? B- Because I wanted to see him. J - I guess you got what you wanted. Brenda nods her head in agreement *end scene* *next scene* Jason and Brenda in the Safehouse continued J- How long have you known that Alcazar was coming after Sonny? Brenda? B - Im not sure. J- Well think about it. When was the first time you heard Alcazar use Sonnys name? When did he start making business trips to Port Charles? You gotta remember something, please. B- Look Im not sure. I cant think clearly, all right? I've been doing drugs for a while. I dont know when things are real and when there not. I wasn't until I saw that we were in Port Charles, I stopped taking them, I started hiding them. J - Are you okay right now? B - Did I just see Sonny get shot? J- No, Im asking--Do you need medication? Do you know what your supposed to take? Cause I can get it for you. B- I dont need the drugs. They just make me confused. Why is this happening? J - Look, you know more than I do. Ok, why would you tell Sonny to meet you at that church? Why you tell him to meet you alone? Was that your idea, or was that Alcazar setting him up? B - I just told you that I ran away from Luis. J - Ok, why? B - Because I want to warn Sonny, and I wanted to ask him to protect Jax. Luis stole some map from Jax so Im pretty sure he's trying to hurt him to. J - Ok, did Alcazar-- B - And you know what? Ive had it with your questions. You need to give me something. Anything! J - Fine! Ok, Im pretty sure Alcazar has been coming after Sonny for a bout 4 months. He's tried to use a few different guys, they didnt work out. Now he's using a guy named Roy Delucca. B- Whoa Whoa Wait! Wait--Roy. Wait, Thats the guy. Thats the name of the guy who he--Luis told this guy to kill Sonny. J - Roy-- Ok listen, Alcazar said he had something that Sonny wanted more than anything in the world. Apparently that was you. Ok? But Sonny thought Alcazar had a way to hurt his family, so we could not do anything until we made sure. He could move against Alcazar until he made a mistake and tonight the yacht blew up and then you show up, and you wanna meet with Sonny. See I--we knew, we knew that Alcazar had a woman with him, ok? I thought it was a set up but Sonny was willing to take that chance. B- Why did you leave him there? J - He told me to get you away. B- Who'd you call? J- I called the ambulance and then I called Carly. Thats his wife. She loves him. I thought she needed to be there. B- All right, well what are we doing here? What is this? J - Brenda, this is a Safehouse, ok? Were gonna be here until someone calls us and tells us something about Sonny. No one knows that were here, that we own this place. There are no neighbors. No one can see us. Alcazar will never find you here. B- All right, what about Jax? J - Jax? What doe she have to do with any of this? B- What about Jax, Jax. I told you that I went o warn Sonny. I was gonna ask him also to protect Jax. J - First of all your not gonna tell me anything until we hear what happened to Sonny. B- Look, you need to protect him. You need to protect Jax because thats what Sonny would have wanted. J - Sonny hates Jax! Sonny hates Him! B- What do you think, he would have wanted him dead? I'm saying you need to protect a man, allergist? Can you do that? You need to protect him because Sonny would have wanted you to do that. Thats what you do, isnt it? Thats what you guys do, its like an honor thing or whatever. J- Hey, dont pretend to understand the relationship that we have, ok? If he wants me to protect Jax thats what I do. If you want me to, im not gonna do it. *cell phone rings* J - Now just be quiet Jason on the phone J - Hello. Did he say anything? Ok, but someone has to be with Carly to make sure she gets home okay. B- What? Where'd they take him? J- To the Morgue *end scene* *next scene* Jason and Brenda in the Safehouse B- I cant believe it rained at that church tonight. I was just--waiting for him, again. You know, he looked at me. He looked right at me and I finally knew everything. He loved me. For a long time a part of me thought he didnt but he did. I've always loved him. And he's always loved me. She looks up at Jason B- Hasn't he? Shot to the vent on the wall behind the plant. B - it's really ok that he never love me as much as I loved him. Shot to Sonny in the room right next door, he hasnt heard anything that Brenda said. He removes his dress shirt to show a makeshift built proof vest (3 bullet holes in back and 2 in the front).
