I used to be with the OBGYN department of a hospital in Laguna.  However, babies have this nasty habit of coming into this world during the wee hours of the morning,  Nakakasira ng beauty sleep ko.  So I decided to quit my clinical practice and go into public health.  I promised myself that I'd be an ordinary citizen of the DOH but as you will see, I am not.  I am now the Chief of the Regulations, Licensing and Enforcement Division of the Department of Health , Region 4-B.  My division handles the licensure and accreditation of hospitals and other health facilities in the region.  I also act as Officer-in-charge of the entire region whenever the Regional Director is out on field work (that is, almost every week).  I used to travel a lot due to field work but since I have been promoted, I stay in the office more often.

I recently finished my MPH with flying colors - as president of the class and topnothcer of the batch, certainly my gray matter has not failed me yet.

When I migrate to the States two years from now, I will fulfill my dream of being an ordinary citizen - no huge responsibilites, no burden on my shoulders.  Wish me luck!
We all owe it to Fe's investigative and patient tracking that  most of us have been located  and reunited with our dear classmates - far and wide the globe.
(Luzve in Australia, Elizabeth C and Sarah in BC, Chuchi in Calgary,  Celine, Astrid and Carol in Toronto, Caridad in the UK and a bunch of us spread across the USA.)
Fe, you started this all and you keep our spirits high -  We salute you, Fe, MD!
