The Nargoth Empire
This was envisioned as a sort of falling-Roman-Empire
sort of place. The site of two campaigns, it's had its current events
jerked around quite a bit. Eventually there will be timelines and
explainations of exactly why and how a Yakuza headwoman got to declare
herself Empress and other such anomolies. For now, there's flavor
text.
There are two elven strongholds in the
center of the Empire, called the Legasha Forest and the Kangrel Woods by
the humans. See Also: N'ndasha
Euli, N'ndasha Obi.
Documents
The Founding
of the Nargoth Empire
A fairly balanced version of the
events that saw the creation of the human empire and the downfall of an
elven one.
Our Glorious
History
Same story as above, but told
by an Imperial Army recruiter to a potential recruit.
Commonly held
beliefs about elves
The Empire has been spreading
propaganda on its enemies for 500 years. These popular images of
elves are the result.
Down with Imperial
Corruption!
A speech used by Sara Red, bard
and rabblerouser, to sway the citizens of Urala Province to support her
plan for a union with the elves of the Legasha Forest and a rebellion against
the Empire.
The Hope of Our Peoples
Sara Red's story on the foundation
of the village of Hope, which cemented the Urala-Legasha Alliance.
Told on the first birthday of the first half-elf born in Hope.
The End of the
Empire
The Nargoth Empire has fallen
into civil war. Here's how it happened.
Power Groups Active in the Empire
Links to separate, more detailed websites
coming when I get separate, more detailed web pages typed. NPCs from
various groups will be detailed on that group's page.
The Harpers
Based heavily on the Forgotten Realms
organization of the same name, more than adequately detailed in Code of
the Harpers. I have not yet made any significant changes to the group,
save for the addtion of PC and NPC Harper agents.
The Red Serpents Thieves Guild
Refugees from the chaos which enveloped
the kingdom of Logres, the Serpents had the ear of the Emperor at one point.
They've thrown in their lot with Emperor-General Maximus so far, fearing
retribution should their perpetual adversary, Takeda Kaede, gain the imperial
throne.
The Yakuza
Takeda Yoshihara fled the Jade Empire
some thirty years ago with fifty or so family members and retainers.
Settling in the seaside town of SilverStar, he quickly established himself
as a source of protection and justice that could not be had from the corrupt
Imperial governor. His organization (now headed by his daughter,
Takeda Kaede) effectively controls a good deal of the western provinces,
training native agents in the ways of Yakuza honor. Kaede is one
of the two current claimants to the Imperial throne.
Shadowholme
An enclave of surface-dwelling drow, led
by priests of Vhaeraun. They had a hand in the assassination of several
Imperial officials and are instigating several nefarious plots at the moment.
The Dae Faroth
The elven Shadow Hunters have appeared
in the Kangrel Woods under the direction of the Shadow Stalker. Their
impact on current events has yet to be noticed.
Cult of Shar
As people begin to seek escape from the
civil war, the clergy of the Dark Lady are happy to provide it. They
are concerned about the destruction which is sure to erupt soon and might
be unlikely allies for those seeking to stop the war.
Urala-Euli Alliance
Urala Province has allied with the elven
forest N'ndasha Euli to stand together against the Empire.
The Imperial Army
It is divided almost evenly between Takeda
and Maximus. NPC officers loyal to Takeda are on the Yakuza page;
this link goes to Maximus and his men.
