Greetings and welcome to my first web page originally created May 14, 1997, and revised several times since. For those who do not know me, I am best known as Scarlet CSA (or Scarlett). Originally from Charleston, South Carolina, I've lived throughout the Southeast  but returned to my beloved South Carolina (closer to my birthplace in Charleston) in July 1999. My love for Dixie is well known~hence my screen name. I happen to be very proud of my Southern heritage and ancestry since both sides of my family fought for the Confederacy. I am Southern to my very soul, but I do not hate anyone.

And yes, people love to chide me about Rhett; Tara; Gone With the Wind; The Civil War (although there was nothing civil about it; therefore, I prefer to call it the War Between the States), mint juleps; grits (which few know actually means "girls raised in the South"); picking cotton; my Southern drawl & Southern expressions; my profile; being a lowcountry, sandlappin' Geechie; etc., but that is quite all right. I remain proud of my Southern birthright, as well as my forefathers. There is something about being "born and raised" in the South that is ingrained in us from birth to death. Part of my heart resides in Charleston~forever. The history; my family & friends; gardens; cobblestone- and brick-paved streets; horse-drawn carriages; flower & basket ladies; The Market, azaleas; the scent of magnolias, gardenias, and Carolina jasmine, Angel Oak and yes, pluff mud; heat; humidity; the Shag; the beaches and beach music; a full moon over the battery; Shem Creek; trawlers; seafood; the Cooper & Ashley Rivers are just a few fond memories Charleston invokes. I also lived in Virginia, Georgia, Florida, North Carolina (or "upper" Carolina), which enhanced my Southern exposure. Being online, I have made many new friends from various walks of life and from all over the world. I love each one dearly for they impart their wisdom and humor, share their experiences, and bring me untold joy. One thing Southerners are well-known for is their uncanny sense of humor, and I possess more than my share. And so, my friends, this page is dedicated to y'all~whether you are from the South is irrelevant. I have ample love for Dixie and wish everyone would love her like I do.

I'm working on updating the links below ~ especially my own since I switched to another Internet Service Provider recently. In the meantime, please bear with me.

You know a rose is scarlet, so they say.
But any rose by any name is not as fair as you!

I held you tight to keep you warm.
The scent of the scarlet woman did reach me deep, deep inside.
I would never let you go!

The moon rose over the meadow, the last bird did sing.
I said your name,"Scarlet." You said, " That's Me!"
My heart did skip a beat, my temperature did rise!
The scarlet woman was at my side.

Half bright but yet, half dark-the moon did light the way.
Our walk was to nowhere.
We had no beginning, and I hope no intended end.

This was one night I wouldn't let you slip away.

A name, any name, our names are who we are,

Scarlet is her name-this woman at my side.

Friends, I decided to remove the Comet Cursor from all of my web sites since
my AdAware software lists it as SpyWare. I do not like any spyware software
and certainly do not approve of the way Comet Cursor unknowingly "bundles" it with other software.
I was unaware of this but removed it as soon as I learned.
