The Unknowing

They look here and there
They look all around.
They look behind a tree
They look beneath the ground.

They search high and low
They search near and far
But all was in vain
As their query is gone

For what they search,
They do not know
Tis lost somewhere
In the strands of time.

But still they search,
Yet always in naught
For their suspect is gone,
Gone before their very eyes.

Always a step ahead
it leads them astray.
Though forever shall they search,
Waiting for their faithful day.
