Young Warrior A young warrior was he As he walked along the path Inexperienced to this test He was to be thrust in too fast He walked along in silence Through the forest all around Unaware of the dangers That lay beneath the ground As he floundered on the path The ground fell beneath He scratched and scrabbled Yet still could not keep his feet As always he fell In his most perilous times And always he struggled As if against the vines He fell through his hell As he fell through his life Always falling yet walking On the edge of a knife Then came the day When hope seemed to fail Yet, out of the darkness Does life lift its veil She came as an angel All beauty and grace And lifted from him His life's lonely waste She is his savior His long awaited love She is the one That has come from above As he bows his head With a thankful face He professes his love In her gentle embrace For years he has fallen Through his hell and again Though beset with her love Shall his new life begin.
