In 1996, longing to share the joy of gospel music, choir members formed the Sacramento Catholic Gospel Choir under the direction of Arvis Whitaker and began participating in the music liturgy with the blessings of Fr. John Lagomarsino of St. John the Evangelist Church in Carmichael. We have since brought our special style of music ministry to Sacramento area churches as well as El Dorado, Yuba, Solano Counties, and the Bay Area. We have presented gospel concerts as well as our yearly Ecumenical concert. Our membership includes various parishes, faiths, cultures, and ethnicities. We travel!

Our Story
In December, 2003, the Sacramento Catholic Gospel Choir officially "retired" from active service with St. John's in Carmichael and no longer sings on a regular weekly or monthly basis. The choir does continue, however, to guest at services and churches and will be happy to make arrangements to sing at your church.

Please call Kathy at (916) 635-7253 to discuss our guest appearance and dates.
