Finding a Monster Bash without typical scoop wear is tough, but finding a
NOS Monster Bash playfield is even tougher. So I decided to repair the area
instead and save myself some money. Below are some pics of the repair process
which took about two days to repair. Click on the images below to see the image
in full size. Completed 3-15-03. Any questions? Email me at schudel5@yahoo.com
1. Typical scoop wear around
kickout. Note wear below drac
trac where it says "Monster
Mosh Pit".
2. Scoop weldment and flasher
removed.
3. Right ramp and most parts
removed from around scoop
area.
4. Added Kerry's protector to
help protect the hole from
further wear and to act as
a mold for the J-B Weld.
5. Another angle of the protector.
6. J-B Weld was mixed and applied
between the protector and the
playfield and allowed to dry overnight
using a heat lamp to make sure it dried.
7. J-B Weld sanded down carefully to
match playfield level. 1000 grit wet/dry
emory cloth was used to at the final
stage to make it very smooth.
8. Scott Gallagher's playfield overlay
was carefully cut and positioned
on the playfield. A template of the
finished opening was created from
cardboard and used to cut the overlay
before affixing the overlay to the playfield.
9. All finished! Installed is Kerry's new
scoop weldment as well. The colors
match very well and is very difficult to
see in person. The digital camera can
pick up subtle color differences and can
be seen in these photos. So far after a
year, the overlay has held up PERFECTLY!

*****NOTE!!!! Scott Gallagher has stated that he is no longer going to
offer anymore decals once he has run out of what he has printed!!!
Appparently too many people were complaining that his colors were off?!?!?
