defensive handgun - A semi-automatic handgun in a common caliber (9mm, .40, .45, etc.). Many good brands, some of which are: Glock (any model), Sig (any model), Colt 1911, Beretta model 92, etc. handgun for field work - Either another semi-auto or a revolver to be carried around camp while doing chores, etc. Try to match the same caliber as your defensive handgun. The main thing here is to make the gun "lighter" than your defensive handgun so you are willing to carry it around. bolt-action rifle - Your basic "hunting rifle". Used for hunting or sniping. Also many good brands, but try to standardize with the same ammo as your assault rifles/MBR's. |

assault rifle/MBR(main battle rifle) - This is where all the arguements start. There are many good choices here, but make sure your choice has one of the following calibers: 7.62x51(NATO)(commonly known as .308 win), 7.62x39(russian), or 5.56(NATO). Some suggestions for each are as follows: 7.62x51 - FAL, M1A, 7.62x39 - SKS, AK-47(or variant), 5.56 - AR-15, Ruger Mini-14(highly discouraged unless in California). Shown below from top to bottom: FAL, Bushmaster AR-15, SKS. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
