We waited  << 294 DAYS >> from dossier mailed to referral!

Phase III - The Referral and Waiting for Travel Approval!! November, 2003:   REFERRAL on November 17!  We have a daughter!  Click here for referral pictures and other details!! Now, the wait for travel approval begins ...           We waited 32 days for Travel Approvals to arrive!

December, 2003:  We began the month hopeful for quick news on travel approvals, as some Feb DTC people did receive theirs the first week of the month.  On Dec 19 we received word from our agency that our travel approvals did arrive and were faxed to the American Consulate in Guangzhou to secure an appointment at the end of our trip.  On Dec 22 we got a phone call that was 2nd in joy only to our referral call ... we are leaving Jan 2nd for China, and will get Abby on Jan 6th!  Lots to do with the holidays and 11 days notice for travel, but what a wonderful holiday it will be! Our rough trip dates are:  Jan 2-3, travel from U.S. to Hong Kong - Jan 4-5 in Hong Kong - Jan 6 fly to Changsha and get Abby, stay in Changsha through Jan 13th or so to do adoption paperwork and wait for Abby's passport - on Jan 13 or 14 we will fly to Guangzhou for our work with the American Consulate - on the night of Jan 16 we will take the train back to Hong Kong, and then fly back to the U.S. on Jan 17.
