Biography
of Michael Decker, President
Michael
Decker, president of Decker Tool Rental, founded the company on April 15th,
1983. He has over 30 years of
experience in the tool rental business.
Mr.
Decker was born in the Bronx and raised in Queens, NY.
He learned the value of hard work as he watched his father climb
from the mailroom to an executive position at New York Life. The family
moved to Thornwood, NY and at age 15, Mr. Decker flipped burgers at
Emilia’s Restaurant. One
year later, he began his career in the tool rental business at Handy Rent
All, where he worked for 12 years.
Mr.
Decker graduated from Westlake High School in 1973. He was honored by the
American Rental Association for Neatness of Location in 1995 and has
assisted two local businesses, Lillar Bobcat Service in 1986 and Pro Am
Tool in 1998 with equipment, finances, and entrepreneurial advice.
Decker
currently resides in
North Salem
,
NY
with his wife Patti, his sons Michael, Sean and Scott, and his daughter
Nicole. Mike and Sean are
currently employed at Decker Tool Rental.
In the summer, they relax on their 26 ft Powerboat on Candlewood
Lake, CT, while in the winter, they cruise the slopes of Mount Snow, VT.
