Tool Rental Reports Strong Summer Sales
HAWTHORNE, NY – September 23, 2002 –
Decker Tool Rental reports a steady increase in summer earnings.
This year’s 2nd Quarter sales are up 8% from those in
2001.
Rental
activity is traditionally heaviest in the spring and fall and moderate in
the summer. Mr. Decker
explains that contractors need equipment when projects start in the
spring. During the summer,
activity normally slows down due to hot weather and family vacations.
Fall rentals pick up because there is a rush to finish projects
before the winter.
This
summer, however, was different. “Due
to the recent dry weather, contractors rented equipment to assist in water
resource maintenance,” Decker says.
Moreover, machinery requests for oil tank removal also assisted
this summer’s earnings. The
most popular rental has been the compact excavators.
Mr.
Decker projects that 3rd quarter sales will increase relative
to the 2nd quarter, as traditionally expected.
Also, he anticipates that 3rd quarter purchases will
rise relative to those from the previous few years.
Last year’s fall season was uncharacteristically slow due to the
fallout from 9/11.
