Tool Rental Sponsors Eastern Championships for Freestyle Skiing
HAWTHORNE,
NY –
March 24, 2003
– Decker Tool Rental
sponsored the 2003 Eastern Qualifier Series Championship (EQS) Event held
at Mount Snow
, VT, March 22 and 23. The EQS
Championships is the end of the season event that crowns the overall
champion in the events of Moguls, Big Air, Combined and a Team Champion is
also awarded. Decker Tool
Rental assisted with financial support and Staging Equipment for the
judge's stands.
The
EQS Championships consists of the top athletes in Moguls and Big Air from
20 different ski area freestyle teams.
Freestyle teams in attendance hail from Sugarloaf and Sunday
River
in Maine,
Attitash
Bear
Peak, Loon
Mountain,
Mount Sunapee, and Waterville
Valley in New Hampshire.
From Vermont: Bromley
Mountain, Killington, Mt Snow,
Okemo
Mountain, Stowe, Stratton
Mountain, and Sugarbush. Also in attendance from New York: Bristol Mountain,
Buffalo Ski Club, Holiday Valley, HoliMont Mountain, Hunter Mountain,
Windham Ski Area, and Whiteface Mountain /Lake Placid, also Mountain Creek
Ski Area Wachussett Mountain from New Jersey and Massachusetts
respectively.
“The
donations from Decker Tool Rental made it possible for every athlete to
receive a souvenir 2003 EQS Championship T-shirt specially made for the
event also Decker Tool Rental supplied the staging for our judgess stands.
Without which our judges wouldn’t be able to see the athletes
properly,” stated Sam Bachhuber, Mount Snow Training Center Competitions
Coordinator. Bachhuber
continues, “Thanks to Mr. Decker, every athlete can now go home with a
gift to remember how well they did throughout the entire season.”
The
athletes are invited to the event based on their performance throughout
the ski season in each event. EQS
Freestyle skiing athletes consist of J5’s (aged 10 and under), J4’s
(ages 11-12), J3’s (ages 13-14) and J2’s (ages 15-16).

Freestyle Competition Committee is a non-profit division of the United
States Skiing Association, as sanctioned by the United States Olympic
