Kenneth Scott Hannan was born on January 23,  1979 in Richmond, British Columbia.  The San Jose Sharks drafted the 6'2", 220-pound defenseman in 1997 as the second first round pick and 23rd overall.  Scott scored his first NHL goal on Nov. 30, 2000 vs. Anaheim in overtime.  His two most memorable moments were when the Sharks drafted him and when he scored his first goal.  Scott would some day like to meet Bobby Orr who he considers to be the best defenseman ever to play the game.  Scott is a solid hockey player who doesn't get very nervous before a game and focuses on the things he needs to do.  If Scott wasn't a hockey player, he would like to be a lawyer.  He started skating at the age of four. While  growing up in Surrey, British Columbia, Scott played hockey and baseball.   Since he was six or seven years old, Scott has spent every summer on the water with his family. During the summer,  Scott enjoys wakesurfing and wakeboarding on Lake Okanagan during the Summer in Kelowna British Columbia.  He enjoys traveling up and down the Monterey coast.  Scott likes to eat steak for his pre-game meal. Scott listens to all types of music; rock, alternative, hip hop, and rap. His favorites are The Tragically Hip, Garth Brooks, Epic Lattitudes, and Matthew Good Band.
