Here he is, Eddie Munster on steroids: Black Adam! Credit for the idea for the recipe goes to Fat Sal. My Black Adam is slightly different than his though. I started with a Captain Marvel base figure, boiling and popping on a Lex Luthor head. Next, I sculpted on Black Adam's hair using Sculpey. Here's where my recipe differs a bit from Sal's: I didn't think Luthor's head looked quite right on the Captain's body, so I augmented the chin and jaw-line using Sculpey, giving Black Adam a more square jaw. Next, I painted the figure, which was pretty easy, since all you have to do is paint the red parts of Marvel's uniform black. To make this even easier, I masked off the lightning symbol using masking tape to keep the symbol's line crisp. Of course, I also painted Black Adam's new chin and hair. Finally I sealed the figure using clear spray on acrylic sealant. |
