Booster Gold is built on a Green Lantern base body, with a Firestorm head. I started by boiling and popping the Firestorm head onto the Lantern body. Next, I cut the flame off of Firestorm's head using my X-acto knife. Using my Dremel, I then ground off Lanterns boots, ring and the circular part of his uniform under his armpits. I left in place the decorations on his shoulders, since these match perfectly the decorations on Booster's uniform shoulders. Using Sculpey, I sculpted on Booster's hair, goggles, boots, collar, wristbands and gauntlets. Finally, I primed and painted the figure. The painting was the most difficult part of this custom. I'm proud of how he turned out, but I will never make another Booster Gold because of the length of time it took to paint him. |
