I built Captain Marvel, Jr. on a Robin base, so that he would be smaller in scale to the Super Powers Captain Marvel figure. The first thing I did was cut off the top of Robin's head with my X-acto so that I could remold his hairstyle. Next, I Dremeled off the details of his tunic, shorts and shoes. I also smoothed down the back of his gloves without removing them completely, since I needed to use them as Junior's guantlets. The next step was difficult, removing Robin's mask with my dremel. Next, using Sculpey, I resculpted Jr.'s hair. I also used sculpey to build Jr.'s boots and belt. I also augmented his guantlets with the Sculpey. Lastly, I primed and painted the figure. My wife made the cape, which I detailed with gold paint. |
