Rocket Red #4, Dmitri Pushkin, was a hero of the Soviet Union, and a member of the Justice League. To build him, I started with a Darkseid base. First, I used a cutting wheel on my Dremel to cut off Darkseid's knee guards and face. I then ground off his gloves. Next came a ton of sculpting. Using nearly a whole block of Sculpey, I built his face shield, boot details, gauntlets, shoulder armor and backpack. I also built his chest armor and added the ear details to his helmet with Sculpey. Next, I primed the figure using a spray on primer. Finally, I painted the figure, paying careful attention to the small details like the CCCP on Red's helmet and the hammer and sickle on his star emblem. Not seen in the picture is the big red star I painted on his back pack. This was a challenging custom to build, but I had alot of fun with it. |
