I am pretty proud of how my custom of Zatanna's father, Zatara, turned out. He is made almost entirely of the leftover parts from my Sinestro project. I used a Joker body as a base. I then added Green Lantern's head. Next I cut off the top hat from a Penguin figure. After cutting off the top of Green Lantern's head, I cemented on the top hat. Next, I ground off Joker's Colonel Sander's tie and Green Lantern's mask with my Dremel. Using Sculpey, I smoothed out the area where I removed the Joker's tie. I also augmented Joker's neck with Sculpey, because it looked too skinny for Green Lantern's head. Finally, I added Zatara's bow tie with Sculpey. After the Sculpey cured, I painted the figure. I decided not to prime him, since the pants and vest were already the correct color. I just had to paint the shoes, coat and top hat black. Painting the eyes and eye brows was fairly difficult for me, but with some patience, they turned out pretty well. |
