  Synopsis:
Initially hoping to come up with ideas, a lonely writer starts following people as they go about their day.  A man Bill has been following, Cobb, catches him in the act.  Bill is drawn into Cobb's life of entering dwellings, nosing about their personal lives, and screwing ever so slightly with their minds.  Of course they each have their own agendas, and apparent conflict soon follows.

  Review:
Christopher Nolan's first feature clearly demonstrates talent.  This is a clear predecessor to his very challenging
Memento, and he employs both flash back and flash forward segments in a way that enhances the story with out giving away the surprise ending.  In thriller style, it starts slow and picks up speed although some passages could be better paced.  The very low budget may show through a bit, but that is offset by the advantages of the noir styling.

The actors are good, and they give a degree of credibility that is needed to pull off such an unusual story.  They make you both sympathize and dislike them at the same time.  The settings are great for drawing the audience into the seedier side of life in a believable way.  I would certainly recommend seeing this film if you get the chance.
