Program Schedule 2008-2009
The New Year brought in a lot of activities for the troop. We had three Eagle ceremonies this month, (Michael Marra-Powers, Mark Costello, and Mark Franzen). It’s always great to see the guys come back from college. I still can’t get over how much they grow in such a short time. On Jan 9-11 the troop went to Laughing Waters Girl Scout Camp in Gilbertville Pa. In the morning the scouts practices the skills needed for the Klondike Derby. After a large lunch we packed up and went to Bear Creek Ski Resort for and afternoon and evening of skiing, snow boarding and tubing. Everyone had a great time and no broken bones!!! On Saturday, January 24th, the troop participated in Burt Kiphaut’s memorial service held at Plymouth Valley Community Church. The service was a great tribute to Burt, his family and everyone who knew him. He will be missed!! Last weekend we were at the Baden Powell District’s Klondike Derby / Alaskan Gold Rush. We had perfect weather for a Klondike Derby. The snow on the ground made it easier for the boys pulling the dog sleds. Aside from being really cold everyone had a good time and we all got home in time for the “Super Bowl”. Mark Wood’s Eagle ceremony will be this Saturday at 2:00. Scout Sunday is this Sunday. The troop will be attending the 10:45 service at St Marks. The Cub Pack will be serving breakfast prior to the this service. Come out and support the Pack! All boys should be in full class “A” uniform. The flowers on the alter will be in memory of Bill Gebhardt and Burt Kiphaut. A new year brings new challenges for all of us. Remember to keep current on your son’s advancement and dues.
