NEW TIGER CUB PROGRAM

Scouting is FUN with a purpose

1st page is for parents and from the 2nd page on should be read and discussed with your boy

(4) Tiger Cub Trail - 1st grade or 7 years old, he will learn by doing things himself

(5) Using Handbook - Your Tiger Cub and you his adult partner are a Team

(6) Your Boy, Scouting, and You - are members of a Den and part of a larger group called the Pack

(7) How does it work? - as a den, each team will meet together twice a month in a den meeting

And once a month will go on an outing called 'Go See It' and once a month attend the Pack Meeting

Each den meeting or outing is led by both the den leader and adult partner called shared leadership

Packs are led by a Cubmaster and Pack Committee, and a sponsor called a chartered organization

(9) Pack Organization Chart shows how the Cub Scout Pack is formed and who is in it

(10) When Tiger Cubs meet? You will have two 1 hour den meetings and 1 'Go See It' outing per month

plus attend the monthly pack meeting. Shared leadership means all parents help lead the den

(11) Uniforms - as a new Tiger Cub your boy will be asked to wear the orange T shirt, hat and blue belt

(12) Planning the Tiger Cub meeting - a 'Program Form' lays out the parts of a Tiger Cub meeting and

'Program Helps' which is a guideline to the monthly theme that most packs participate in

Tiger Cub Belt Totem - earned by learning the Motto, Sign and Salute and awarded at the pack meeting

Achievements & Totem Beads - There are 5 achievements for each of 3 parts in the Tiger Cubs program

White bead is earned for each required Family activity he completes

Orange bead is earned for each required Den activity he completes

Black bead is earned for each required 'Go See It' activity he completes

These beads go on the first three strands of his Belt Totem and the 4th is for yellow Tiger Track beads

(21) Tiger Cub badge - is earned by completing all 15 parts of the 5 achievements

5 - Family activities 5 - Den activities & 5 - 'Go See It' activities

(22) Electives and Tiger Track beads - after your boy has earned his Tiger Cub badge he can earn the

yellow Tiger Track beads. For each 10 electives he completes he will receive 1 Tiger Track bead

(24) Parents, leaders and organizations work together to achieve the 10 purposes of Cub Scouting:

1 Character Development, 2 Spiritual Growth, 3 Good Citizenship, 4 Sportsmanship and Fitness,

5 Family Understanding, 6 Respectful Relationships, 7 Personal Achievement, 8 Friendly Service,

9 Fun and Adventure, 10 Preparation for Boy Scouts
