Childress ( Childers ), John Holland, born 1827, son of John and Catherine Cantrell Childress.
Childress ( Childers ), William Berry, born 22 Feb 1822 in Laurens District, SC and was married to Sarah Elizabeth Suggs. Also served in Co. H, 2nd SC Rifles and was discharged on April 29, 1862 because of rheumatism in his left knee and hip. He enlisted in Company K, on 25 Nov 1862 at Greenville, SC and was present but never paid. His records also list him as 6 ft. tall, fair complexion, blue eyes, dark hair, and a farmer. He died on 8 July 1897, Dacusville, Pickens County, SC. Brother of John Holland Childress

He was captured at Haws Shop, Va. May 28, 1864. He was held at Elmira, NY and released on June 30, 1865. He married Margaret Stone (11 Sept. 1828-1 Nov. 1867) then Sarah Jane Barrett (1830-1 Nov. 1874). He died 6 May 1905 and is buried Six Mile Baptist Church, Six Mile, Pickens Co., SC. Contact:
Merck, Joseph. born 6 April 1823, Pendleton District, SC (Pickens), enlisted 25 Nov 1862, Greenville, SC (90 days), married 1st to Susannah Chapman (1815-1 Sept. 1881) amd then to Sara Ann Blazer (13 Jan. 1845-22 July 1915), and died 22 Nov 1894, Ellenboro, NC. Contact:
