Stars and Chips Forever, or Abby as she is known around the barn, is a young, green chestnut Quarter Horse mare who has had a rough start in life. At five years old, she had already developed fear issues stemming from, we are told, being beaten in the face with a chain shank while in her stall. Because of her history, she had awful stall manners and was extremely head shy upon arrival into SCR's care. Thankfully, we saw significant improvement in her during the short time we had her as we tried to teach her she had nothing to fear from people.
Abby found a forever home with a very patient young girl who has experience with green and abused horses. Abby seemed to think this girl was the one for her too, as she did not show the immediate distrust she gave to most visitors. We wish the two of them the very best of luck together, and hope they have a great long partnership together.
Treat her well, Abby. You will learn to trust and love from her.
