Bay Thoroughbred Gelding 1999 Expect Peace, or Evan as he is known around the barn, is a Thoroughbred who was pulled from track life as he developed bone chips in his knees. Since his life change from race horse to rescue horse, he has undergone some John Lyons training. We have also done some long-lining with Evan, and have been developing his skills under saddle. Although Evan has the start of a good education as a pleasure horse under saddle, he will need a patient future home where he can continue to learn. However, we feel that he has a willing, sweet personality and will not be difficult to continue training. He is competant enough for trail rides (and seems to enjoy them), but does need some of the finer points of riding tuned. Evan gets along very well with other horses -- he is currently turned out with another gelding -- and has excellent ground manners. Evan found his forever home with one of SCR's volunteers. His "mom" fell in love with his soul, and wanted to keep him in her life, despite his chronic lameness issues. We wish the two of you the best of luck together. Treat her well, Evan! |
