Chestnut Dutch Warmblood Gelding

Ouston was originally imported from Holland when he was a 3 year old, and went into intensive training for a year.  After that year, his owners at the time made a difficult decision.  They decided that he would likely not be consistent enough for Grand Prix work, and agreed to sell him.  When they could not find a suitable home for him, however, his owners donated him to SCR.

By the time Oustie came to SCR he had been out of work for over a year.  He had forgotten his ground manners, was out of shape, and had lost all sense of work ethic.  But, he was sweet and we were willing to work with him.

Oustie was adopted by the E. Granby foster farm's SCR board member, and he has been thriving.  His new owner has been working with him, improving those ground manners and continuing his education under saddle.  Under her tutelage, Oustie ribboned in several local Hunt Seat and Dressage shows.

We are very excited that Oustie and his owner have found so much happiness and success with each other, and we wish them the best in the future.
