Sunrise Surprise

American Saddlebred gelding
1986

Sunrise Suprise (Sunny, as we like to call him) is a chestnut gelding, approximately 16 hands high.  Sunny is a sweet guy who loves being around people.  He has very good ground manners, and does well for the farrier and vet.

Sunny has Cushing's disease which is managed through a special diet (low starch/low sugar).  SCR requires that his future forever home continue to maintain him on a low starch/low sugar diet.  Furthermore, Sunny cribs, but this is easily controlled with a cribbing collar.

Sunny has spent the last 3 years in a home where he was used mainly for trail riding.  Unfortunately, due to financial difficulty, Sunny's Cushing's disease was not managed properly.  Between this and his age, Sunny dropped a significant amount of weight.  Sunny now has a difficult winter ahead of him, we are asking for your help.

Sunny will need a significant amount of vet care and supplements to get him back on his feet, a difficult task made harder by the cold weather.  As a non-profit, we rely on donations from generous people to help these animals recover from the hardships that they face.  So we ask,
