Barry Lowenthal

 

PROFILE

Barry is an accomplished drummer who joined Steel Breeze in 1982 after performing on two albums with the Tasmanian Devils. Since his involvement with Steel Breeze, Barry went on to be a successful session drummer doing high profile work with Paul Kantner, Marty Balin and Jack Casady of Jefferson Airplane/Starship fame. Barry appeared on the trio's self-titled 1986 debut album, The KBC Band, doing the studio work on "Hold Me." For more info about Barry, see the All Music Guide. .

NOTES

In 1997-98, as part of Alvin Youngblood Hart's blues band he played drums on Hart's covers of "Sway" and "Moonlight Mile" for the Stones' tribute album. Lowenthal also worked with noted musicians Taj Mahal and Pete Sears during his time with Hart's band.
