According to the International Society for Technology in Education, prior to completion of Grade 12, students will:
7. Routinely and efficiently use online information resources to meet needs for collaboration, research, publications, communications, and productivity. (4, 5, 6)
In order to prepare students to meet this standard, I will develop lessons that will focus collaboratively researching, publishing, communicating, and producing work using online informational resources. Students will be able to work together in order to research information. They will be then able to use technology as a means for communication and producing their end product. The finished products will be then published online in order to be a resource for other students.
In teaching this standard, I will focus on:
The process of using and developing the skills in the application of technology
The finished performance-based final product
12. Collaborate with peers, experts, and others to contribute to a content-related knowledge base by using technology to compile, synthesize, produce, and disseminate information, models, and other creative works. (4, 5, 6)
The primary focus of instruction for this standard culminates into the development of a project that disseminates information or expresses a creative work through a collaborative process of compiling information and synthesizing knowledge. Students will learn this standard through processes that utilize technology and technological resources in order to develop content-based learning and performance products. Students will to work together to incorporate technology into their content learning.
I will plan lessons that are focused on:
Content-related knowledge dissemination Using technology to compile, synthesize and produce Developing skills in technology in a collaborative manner
