Our role is to provide the South Devon Railway with its own First Aid Service, we are looking to recruit new volunteers to our group - you will be a member of the South Devon Railway |

You will respond to emergency care needs anywhere on the Buckfastleigh site, however much of your activity will be centred around the First Aid Unit [see opposite], . |

TRAINING AND DUTIES Duties Include:- Providing First Aid Cover for railway staff and customers Checking First aid Boxes You will be given on-going support and have the opportunity to develop your clinical skills by attending regular training sessions. Have the opportunity to work alongside more experienced Devon EMS members at other events covered by Devon EMS - First Aid Services. If desired you will have the opportunity to develop your skills from those of a basic level first aider to include, vital signs monitoring, oxygen administration, and automated defribrillation. We also encourage the input of Healthcare Practitioners and Assistants. |

MEMBERSHIP Membership of S.D.R First Aid Group is open to both existing and future members of the South Devon Railway who are aged 18yrs or over. Current rates for standard membership is £16 per year with reductions for Senior Citizens and the unemployed. Active S.D.R members benefit from discounted meals in the cafe, and free travel on most trains. Previous First Aid experience is not essential as you will undertake an Emergency First Aid Course [Appointed Persons] as part of your induction. |
