THE PHOTOS TAKE A WHILE TO DOWNLOAD BUT ARE WELL WORTH THE WAIT...
You can enjoy the sights of our world, For it is, crystal blue and pretty as a pearl. Swimming to and fro, that’s my wish, It’s the perfect life, for a fish. And if you ever get the chance, You may come on down and dance. In our world, under the sea, What a beautiful place to be. Copyright © 1998, Sheila D. Stansell
MARK MOHLMANN ALOHA
MARK: I live on a small island in Kaneohe Bay where the University of Hawaii marine lab is located. The island is about 24 acres and surrounded by coral reefs and is a conservation zone.
MARK: I am looking at the taxonomy, phylogeny, and biogeography of a group of gobies united by a behavioral synapomorphy.
(TRANSLATION: I am deciding which species are valid and describe and name new ones, look at the evolutionary relationships and where they live. The fish are grouped together cuz they all live with a type of shrimp that digs the burrow and the fish is the guard)
