Silent Sentinel ~ locks of golden hair cascading from the lofty tower maiden fair eyed hazel blue where supposed love held her captive she tossed petals soft upon the wind as words flow deep from lilted quill songs harmony from garret high she’s dreaming, singing of another through tethered chains an bolts …knew he couldn’t hold her locking her away awaiting a day her heart might sway but the maiden had a view far and across the land she dreamed of a man not the man that clutched her his power and might sadly showing in his mount from which he’d long fallen the silent sentinel gives no real notice her heart slipped from view she was singing of you dreaming of you longing for you spilling words quietly under her sentinels unwatchful eyes… she kept on singing as he slowly died yielding only to the song in her heart ~ Rain © cls 2003 |
